Kimono Love| Couldn't Find What I Wanted, So I Made It!

Summer is here and it is time to start incorporating kimonos into my ootd. The only thing is that I was having trouble finding one that I really liked.

About 2 years ago I decided to edit my wardrobe to a neutral color palette. I did this because I enjoy minimalist styling and love the sophistication that it expresses. I will admit that sometimes it is challenging to find items that I want because retailers often do not offer silhouettes that I want at the price that I am willing to pay. Every time this happens, a light bulb comes on in my head. Why don't I just make it? So that's exactly what I did.

For some reason I had a kimono pattern stashed away from last year. When I remembered that I had it, I went to my local fabric store, bought 4 yards of 2 different printed fabrics and began sewing. The sewing pattern was 3 pieces so it took no time for me to make it. An hour and a half plus $16 later, I had exactly what I wanted.... a long printed kimono.

I wanted to show you all how I plan on styling my Kimono with 3 different looks.  I've also linked outfit details for those who may want the look.

Keep reading and let me know which look is your favorite!
