Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Gilt City Sample Sale which is actually opened to the today. I purchased a ticket for the 5pm to 7pm time slot and now that I think about it, I should have gone earlier. Although there was a huge selection of items, it was overwhelming and I did not have too much time to really dig in like I would have wanted to because that was the closing slot and they closed on time. I expected it to be a mess but it was actually neater than I expected which is a plus because I absolutely hate shopping in a mess.
I didn't need anything but did pick up some items that I thought were a good buy. The first thing that I spotted were some Dolce Vita leather sandals originally $80 that I purchased for $29. After combing through the many racks, I was able to find a silk short with embroidery on it by Rodebjer which was originally $273 and I got it for $39. Then I found some long wide leg jeans by 3xl NYC which I've been wanting for a while now, they were originally $245 and I paid $49 for it. I would have bought more if I had more time to shop! I spent $117 on items that retail for $598 which is more than a deal.
The shopping experience was great as they had free drinks, consulting services, great music, photo opportunities and so many good deals. I am looking forward to attending the next one.
